We are excited to introduce you to “Hollywood Jerome,” a short film by Frey Hoffman and Malik Yusef. “Hollywood Jerome” is the 2007 winner of the prestigious IFP/Chicago production fund award. All past winners have had solid film festival runs- including the renowned Cannes Film Festival in France.
“Hollywood Jerome” will be the first Production Fund winner to address urban themes, and the first to operate outside the conventions of straight narrative. Based on a poem by Emmy, Grammy and Peabody award-winning poet Malik Yusef, “Hollywood Jerome” tells the story of a teenage boy trapped in the complexities of growing up in urban America.
Chicago natives, Yusef and Hoffman, plan to partner with Chicago Public Schools, Cease Fire, and neighborhood organizations, to create a film educational component that will address youth violence. In Chicago this school year, 27 CPS students have been killed violently.
In order to bring this much-needed film to the silver screen, we are hoping that you will partner with us, and sponsor “Hollywood Jerome.”
We believe this is an ideal forum for your company to gain a positive brand association with the arts, and communicate with a young, urban, media-savvy generation. “Hollywood Jerome” will be filmed on Chicago's South Side, which will provide a unique opportunity to show your commitment to diversity and build immediate customer loyalty in Chicago, a city with the second largest African-American population in the U.S.
We are asking for support in the form of financial contributions, and in-kind donations of products or services. For more information about the film, please review the Sponsorship Opportunities Proposal that follows this letter. Please contact us at 773-
248-2190, or our producer Ayana Haaruun at 773-851-9953.
